Care starts before a package hits the dock. When something onsite doesn’t look right, delivery pros keep everyone in the loop so the delivery stays on track. “Call the customer. If you can’t get the customer, always call into Dispatch… they’ll instruct you the best way forward,” says Aquino Bogle.
That same care carries into the handoff. “Keep the customer satisfied… that’s how we get paid,” says Bogle.
Commitment is doing what you said you would do with prepared vehicles, accurate ETAs, and consistent follow-through. “You have to be very consistent. You have to be on time and a people person,” says Eric Lampkin Sr.
Pros know reliability is a system, not luck. Maintenance is done, tools are ready, and routes match the vehicle. The human piece matters too. “Personality is everything,” says Lampkin Sr.
Speed to Value is not about rushing. It means removing wasted steps so results arrive sooner.
Plan before you roll. Accept work that fits your vehicle and location. Read notes, confirm access, and prep tools. Two minutes up front can prevent a twenty-minute delay.
Route for momentum. Sequence stops to cut miles and avoid backtracking. “Efficiency leads to the money. Line stuff up,” says James Parker.
Communicate early. If a delay comes up, communicate the new ETA to the customer and notify Dispatch Support. That helps keep later stops on time and makes handoffs smoother.
Driven to Deliver means preparing for challenges, executing with pride, and staying steady when conditions get tough. Check weather, construction, dock hours, and site notes. Choose work that fits your vehicle, protect your ETA, and adjust quickly when plans change.
“We cross state lines daily… dealing with tolls and traffic… and weather changes,” says Bogle, which is why pros plan ahead and keep momentum on the road.
It also means sometimes taking a short-term loss to make a long-term gain. “If it costs me $12 to make $100, I’m going to pay that $12,” says Lampkin Sr., a reminder that, as he put it, “everything evens out in the end.”
Transparency means that everyone has access to the necessary details to make informed decisions and a means to be heard when changes need to be communicated. Delivery pros want straight facts up front and responsive help when they ask for it. “The number one thing is the transparency… [Dispatch] gives the information to you and you decide,” says Parker.
That clarity continues after the handoff through webinars and forums that turn field feedback into fixes. “Every month we do webinar… you guys listen, and you try to fix the problem,” says Tahir Naquash.
On the ground, transparency also feels like progress that pros can see. “Webinars keep us abreast and give us the chance to be heard, and I have seen improvements from our concerns,” says Briona Brown.
Thread these habits together, and a simple truth emerges. Professionalism compounds. Read the order carefully. Take what fits your vehicle. Communicate early. Be the person others can count on. That is how delivery pros turn values into outcomes customers feel, run after run and week after week.
