It's true that you can still earn a respectable income driving with Dispatch with a car, SUV, or pickup truck. At some point, however, you may have asked yourself, "How much can I make with a cargo van?"
Similar to ride-share companies, we price our services according to the vehicle types that our customers need. So you can think of a cargo van as the luxury of delivery. And when you provide a luxury equivalent service, we pay you accordingly. But is this worth making the switch? Before jumping on the van-wagon, let us help you identify the advantages of upgrading your ride so you can make a well-informed decision.
You may be surprised by how many delivery jobs call for a cargo van, but owning a cargo van goes beyond delivering with Dispatch. Aside from using it for transportation, another perk of owning a cargo van is the space it has to offer. Use your cargo van to help friends and family haul furniture or leverage it to make money as a moving service on the side.
Other ways to earn with your vehicle can include:
Because we never want to discourage our drivers from taking full advantage of their vehicles, you don't have to worry about being limited to working only with us.
Should you choose to work with Dispatch exclusively, know that cargo vans hold the advantage. Since cargo vans can accommodate larger items that a smaller vehicle would have to turn away, you're able to view all available jobs within a Dispatch market.
Due to the high demand for cargo vans in many of these markets, we also offer exclusive bonuses for our CV drivers:
In Orlando alone, CV drivers average approximately seven deliveries a day versus the four to five that other vehicle types receive — making it even easier for you to hit the quota for bonuses.
If by now you've decided that a cargo van is right for you, there are still a few things to consider before you buy — such as, do you want a new or used vehicle? Or how will you pay for it?
A brand new cargo van can easily cost over $30,000. While it's great to have a new vehicle and you certainly want to be comfortable in your new mobile office, a used cargo van can provide the same comfort with better value.
Car rental services like Enterprise and Hertz, as well as truck rental giant, Budget Trucks, are good places to begin your search. Because these rental services regularly refresh their inventory, they often resell their gently-used cargo vans at a discounted price.
Financing a van and paying it off over time is another great option. Here are some examples:
Lastly, applying your accrued bonuses from Dispatch toward your auto loan can help you pay it off faster. If this sounds like a good deal to you, then take the leap and Deliver More* with a cargo van today!
