At Dispatch, we value professionalism and reliability, which is why we have specific requirements for our Courier Partners. This is essential to ensure a smooth onboarding process and to distinguish between an Independent Contractor and a Courier Partner.

Courier Partner

A Courier Partner is a professional delivery company with a team of employee drivers who meet all the necessary legal and operational requirements to provide reliable and secure delivery services. This includes having the proper insurance, licenses, and certifications.

Independent Contractor

An Independent Contractor is a 1099 driver, who might not have all the specific requirements needed to perform deliveries at the same professional level. They might be missing critical documents such as a Certificate of Insurance (COI) or Department of Transportation (DOT) number.

Certificate of Insurance (COI)

All Courier Partners must have a valid Certificate of Insurance. This ensures that you are covered in case of any accidents or damages during deliveries.

The COI must include coverage for general liability, automobile liability, and cargo insurance.

Department of Transportation (DOT) Number

For those operating vehicles over a certain weight or for interstate deliveries, a DOT number is required.

This number certifies that your vehicle meets all safety regulations and standards the DOT sets.

Limited Liability Company (LLC)

We’re looking for courier owners who have filed for their LLC.

This provides Dispatch customers peace of mind, knowing we partner with established businesses to fulfill their orders.

Commercial Driver’s License (CDL)

We’re looking for courier owners who have filed for their LLC.

This provides Dispatch customers peace of mind, knowing we partner with established businesses to fulfill their orders.

Vehicle Requirements

Your vehicle must be in good working condition, reliable, and meet all safety standards.

Depending on the delivery type, you might need a specific type of vehicle (e.g., van, box truck, etc.).

Background Check

All Courier Partners must pass a thorough background check to ensure the safety and security of our clients and their goods.
